Two note apps, one task manager, one screenshot tool. What they shared: none had been opened in a month, and all of them held a slot in my launcher.

Deleting them felt slightly wrong, because each carried a plan to "use it properly some day". The plan never happened. What remained was overhead.

Decision cost is real.

Keep two tools for one job and every time you must first choose between them. The choice is tiny — too tiny to notice — and it happens many times a day.

Keep one and the choice disappears. What you recover is not time. It is the small, needless hesitation.
